Congratulations to Labyk Award Winner

The 2014 Labyk Award was given to Southern Illinois University Carbondale to create a peer education program to address alcohol and other drug use; nutrition, exercise, and body image; and sexual behavior.

The Peer Educators Empowering Responsible Salukis (PEERS) program will develop student leaders in wellness and health promotion through experiential learning, para-professional opportunities, and leadership skills training with a vision of moving towards a healthier SIUC community. Labyk Award funds will enable SIUC to recruit, retain, certify, and evaluate peer educators.
